Members’ 2026 Calendar

Welcome to the Calendar of Events for Members of the Global Alliance for SBC

Each quarter will feature a monthly members meeting that alternates between being a ‘core’ members meeting, a peer learning meeting embracing the wider ‘SBC Community of Practice’ and a public event open to all.

Notes about the Different Types of Meetings

‘Core’ Global Alliance Member Meetings: These are ‘general’ internal meetings of the Alliance membership. Participation: Attended by member organizations’ representatives and individual members. Aim: Alliance business including voting, as well as technical / updates on the SBC sector. Survey results: The primary focus areas selected by members for the core members meetings were 1) use of AI, 2) use of Human Centred Design, and use of Social Norms Analysis. Format: 1 hour – 15 minutes for Alliance business, and then 45 minutes for structured input time and discussion around sectoral topic. Coordinated by the Evolving & Sustaining SBC Group. Invite Links: Will be shared via the group email for Member Representatives and Individual Members. 2026 Dates: 22 Jan/ 28 April/ 23 July/22 Oct.

‘Peer Learning’ Global Alliance Member Meetings: These are meetings for members of the Alliance’s SBC Community of Practice that are focused on shared learning and capacity. These events are open to all personnel within Member organisations, individual members and participants in the Alliance’s new online ‘SBC Community of Practice’. Registration sign-up.: The aim is to deepen understanding and capacity around key SBC areas. Survey results: The primary focus areas selected by members for the peer learning member meetings were 1) Applied Behavioural Science, 2) Community Engagement, 3) Social and Behaviour Change Communication, and 4) Systems Strengthening. Format: 1.5 hours – varied participatory structures according to topics. Coordinated by the SBC Knowledge & Capacity Action Group. Invite Links: Will be distributed via email to the Member representatives for wider dissemination and promotion within member organisations. 2026 Dates: 26 Feb/ 28 May / 27 Aug/ 26 Nov.

‘Open’ Global Alliance Meetings/Events: These are ‘open’ external online meetings/events focusing on a topic. These events are open to all interested people, such as development colleagues and donors. Registration sign-up. The aim of these events are to showcase the contribution and relevant of SBC within core development and humanitarian areas. Survey results: The primary focus areas selected by members for the ‘open’ meetings were 1) SBC for Health, 2) SBC for Emergencies and Humanitarian and 3) a tie for third place for SBC for Climate & Environment, SBC for Rights, and SBC for Mental Health & Wellbeing. Format: 1 hour – varied input and participatory structures according to topics. Coordinated by the SBC Visibility, Leadership and Engagement Group. Invite Links: Will be available on the website calendar for each event, for registration. 2026 Dates: 26 March / 25 June/ 24 Sept.

 

Choice of Topics – Members’ Survey Results

Alliance members were surveyed in late 2025 about what topics they would like to see given attention across these different types of meetings in 2026. The results were as follows:

  • The primary focus areas selected by members for the core members meetings were 1) use of AI, 2) use of Human Centred Design, and 3) the use of Social Norms Analysis.
  • The primary focus areas selected by members for the peer learning member meetings were 1) Applied Behavioural Science, 2) Community Engagement, 3) Social and Behaviour Change Communication and 4) Systems Strengthening.
  • The primary focus areas selected by members for the ‘open’ meetings were 1) SBC for Health, 2) SBC for Emergencies and Humanitarian and 3) a tie for third place for SBC for Climate & Environment, SBC for Rights, and SBC for Mental Health & Wellbeing.
