What Members’ Would Like to Focus on in 2026 – Survey Results

At the tail end of 2025 the members of the Global Alliance completed a brief survey about preferences for themes and topics relating to social and behaviour change practice to focus on in 2026.

‘Core’ Global Alliance Member Meetings:

Survey results: The primary focus areas selected by members for the core members meetings were 1) use of AI, 2) use of Human Centred Design, and use of Social Norms Analysis.

Results:

  • Use of AI             68.75%
  • Use of Human Centred Design 62.50%
  • Use of Social Norms Analysis  50.00%
  • Use of Creativity             43.75%
  • Use of Behaviour Change Techniques (BCTs)    37.50%
  • Use of Data       25.00%
  • Use of Nudge Theory    18.75%

‘Peer Learning’ Global Alliance Member Meetings:

Survey results: The primary focus areas selected by members for the peer learning member meetings were 1) Applied Behavioural Science, 2) Community Engagement and 3) Social and Behaviour Change Communication.

Results:

  • Applied Behavioural Science: Shaping contexts and designing processes and products to enable behaviour change 62.50%
  • Community Engagement: Partnering with communities so they can lead the change process 62.50%
  • Social and Behaviour Change Communication: Designing holistic and data-driven communications to enable change 43.75%
  • Service Improvements: Designing services that are accessible, usable and valuable 37.50%
  • Systems Strengthening: Strengthening sectoral systems to achieve SBC objectives 37.50%
  • Supportive Public Policies: Changing the rules to enable positive change 25.00%
  • Social Movements: Supporting and nurturing social change processes 37.50%

‘Open’ Global Alliance Meetings/Events:

Survey results: The primary focus areas selected by members for the  ‘open’ meetings were 1) SBC for Health, 2) SBC for Emergencies and Humanitarian and 3) a tie for third place for SBC for Climate & Environment, SBC for Rights, and SBC for Mental Health & Wellbeing.
